CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CENTRAL AREA
- The Central Area of the property includes the Dollier Gold Deposit that is composed of three zones (Figure 5) (Delinel, North Delinel and South Delinel). The characteristics are the following : Orientation : N065°- N245°, Dip of 70° south-south-east (Figure 6), Plunge : 65° south-south-west, Inter-zones distance : 50 m and Mineralisation: Disiminated to massive pyrite-pyrrhotite (Pictures 1 and 2) with localy disiminated chalcopyrite ;
- Best drilling intersections are presented in the Best Results Table and on Figure 9 ;
- Drill holes were drilled to 260 m depth on the Dollier Gold Deposit and potential remains open along strike and at depth (Figures 5, 7, 8 and 9) ;
- 40 holes totaling 5,859 m were carried out on the three gold zones Delinel, North Delinel and South Delinel (Falconbridge Cooper, 1976, Cartier, 2011 and 2014) ;
- The central part of the property has 46 holes totaling 6,911 m (Falconbridge Copper, 1976 ; Cartier, 2011 ) ;
- Ten trenches totaling 4,017 m2 (Cartier, 2009-10) show the deformation corridor and mineralised zones (Pictures 3 and 4). The best results are 9.2 g/t Au over 1.1 m including 3.9 g/t Au over 3.2 m (Delinel) and 3.6 g/t Au over 1.1 m (Delinel North) ;
- Delinel Gold Zone is associated with altered sericite marked enrichment K2O (Figure 8) ;
- The three mineralised zones are conductive and chargeable (EM and IP surveys, 2009-10) ;
- 131 chargeability anomalies were identified and grouped into 15 separate zones (IP survey, Cartier, 2010) ;
- 36 electromagnetic anomalies were generated by the helicopter EM survey (Cartier, 2009) (Figure 4).
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EASTERN AND WESTERN SECTORS
The eastern and western sectors of the property include 5 holes totaling 665 m (Falconbridge Cooper, 1976; Cartier, 2011) ;
86 electromagnetic anomalies were generated by the helicopter EM survey (Cartier, 2009; Figure 4).
HISTORIC WORK
1972
Questor Surveys Ltd completes an INPUT MK V regional aerial survey for the MRNF ;
1974
Rio Tinto Canadian Ltd completes aerial magnetic and electromagnetic surveys. Exploratech Ltd realises a ground magnetic survey totaling 16 km for Falconbridge Copper Ltd ;
1975
Falconbridge Copper Ltd completes a ground electromagnetic survey with RADEM receptor of 83 km. Many conductive zones were outlined ;
1976
Falconbridge Copper Ltd completes 5 drill holes on the conductive zones totaling 466 m. The best result (74A-12) was obtained, on the west shore of the Delinel Lake, 1.10 g/t Au over 2.4 m in an amphibolitic rock containing 15% pyrite ;
1997
Explorateurs-Innovateurs de Québec Inc. completes a beep-mat prospecting survey.
PROPERTY ACCESS
The Dollier property is located 61 km south-south-east of the town of Chibougamau (Figure 1). The access is afforted using road number 167 which links Chibougamau to the Lac Saint-Jean and by a network of forestry roads that cross the property.
GEOLOGICAL SETTING
The property is located within the eastern part of the Abitibi subprovince which is itself included in the Superior province. It is located in a NE-SO oriented volcanic rock pile which belongs to the Roy Group, along the Palmer-Tippecanoe deformation corridor. The geology of the area has been defined by Pilote et al. (1996) and Roy et al. (2006) (Figure 3). The rocks have been regionally folded and metamorphosed to the amphibolite grade. The rock layers are parallel to the regional schistosity and have a nearly sub-vertical dip.
On the Dollier property, most rocks are volcanics of mafic to felsic composition and have affinities ranging from tholeitic (Obatogamau Formation) to calc-alcaline (Waconichi Formation). Along the southern limit of the property, the Boisvert tonalitic pluton cuts the volcanic units. In this area, volcanics have gneissic and migmatitic textures and they are cut by tonalitic dykes.
