Cartier Reports New Results up to 1.54% Copper and 0.14 g/t Pd on Rivière Doré Property

Val-d’Or, Quebec, December 2, 2010 – Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) (“Cartier”) is pleased to announce that it has discovered a new copper showing on its Rivière Doré property, located south-east of the town of Val-d’Or in the province of Quebec. Samples returned up to 1.54% copper (Cu) and 0.14 g/t palladium (Pd) in large boulders and 0.74% copper (Cu) in outcrop. This latest discovery is 10 kilometers north-east from the original 2010 Lake Bruges discovery (1.0% Cu over 6m from channel sampling). On October 28th Cartier announced it had signed a binding LOI with Copper One Inc. (TSX-V: CUO) (“Copper One”). Copper One and Cartier are developing a Definitive Agreement to support the previously signed LOI. Ongoing exploration work, including sampling, mapping, and target identification should lead to diamond drilling in 2011.

The assay results are from a remote portion and previously untested area in the northeast sector of an 80 kilometer long magnetic anomaly that betrays a layered mafic intrusive complex. This latest discovery is located on the northern flank of the intrusive complex. Prospecting led to the discovery of malachite (copper alteration mineral) stained pyroxenite boulders and nearby outcrops. A cluster of electromagnetic samples situated 1 kilometer to the east suggest continuity for the mineralization.

The table below is a summary of the results from this new northeast discovery.

“Cartier believes that these results continue to show the highly prospective potential of the Rivière Dore property,” commented Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier. “With Copper One, we plan additional glacial till sampling and prospecting as well as detailed ground electromagnetic-magnetic surveys that will lead to diamond drilling in 2011.”

Copper One and Cartier are preparing an aggressive exploration program that will include drilling the discovery area and exploring several new strategic targets on the property. The ease of access and lay of the ground allow for exploration on the property on a year-round basis for trenching and drilling.
