Cartier cuts 3.03 % Copper, 1.63 % Zinc and 83.57 g/t Silver over 10.0 metres on Cadillac Extension

Val-d’Or, Quebec, August 11th, 2011 – Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) (“Cartier”) is pleased to announce that new results from channel samples returned 3.03% copper, 1.63% zinc and 83.57 g/t silver over 10.0 meters within a broader interval taken partially across a fold structure (longitudinally) grading 1.00% copper, 1.11% zinc, 31.84 g/t silver over 58.0 meters on the Cadillac Extension project located 115 kilometers east of Val-d’Or in the province of Quebec. Other results returned 3.49% copper, 8.93% zinc and 61.56 g/t silver over 2.0 meters within a wider interval grading 1.24% copper, 1.73% zinc and 25.05 g/t silver over 14.0 meters taken perpendicular to a heavily mineralized and altered section. The results stem from additional trenching of the Langlade polymetalic zone. Systematic channel sampling of the zone was conducted with the objective of characterizing the mineralization to further develop an exploration strategy for the project. The zone is open laterally and at depth and is supported by the results of a recent geophysical survey. Additional results from remaining channels are pending. The best intersections (weighted averages) from results for contiguous channel samples received to date include: See the table of the best intersections attached. Note: the sample lengths presented in this table are those of the channel samples generally taken perpendicular to the mineralization. *True width: due to complex folding some channel samples as in the case of channels 3, 4 and 7 cut the mineralization longitudinally. The real true thickness, which would take into account the varying dip, cannot be calculated at this time. LV signifies lower values. The favourable alteration and mineralized rock units at Langlade are folded and plunge at a shallow angle towards the east. Detailed mapping and sampling of the zone was completed in order to outline the overall geometry of the best potential units. Three dimensional modeling of the zone factored with all assay results and recent geophysical results will be used to orient future drilling. An IP survey (14,5 km) over the Langlade area has outlined an anomaly averaging 100 meters wide and up to 70 meters long. The anomaly correlates with the mineralization and supports field observations that the potential for the extension of mineralization is open west and east along the survey boundary. “These results show that high grade base metal mineralization can be concentrated in areas that are open at depth and laterally.” commented Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier, adding, “drilling will follow upon reception of all results and their three dimensional modelling”. Quality Assurance/Quality Control The exploration program and the technical information presented in this press release have been reviewed and approved by Mr. Philippe Cloutier, P. Geo., President and CEO. Mr. Cloutier is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The Cadillac Extension exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Berthelot, Vice President – Exploration. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc.
