Cartier Confirms Continuity of Gold Zones on Dollier
Val-d’Or, Quebec, May 3 2011 – Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) (« Cartier ») is pleased to announce the first drill results on its Dollier project located south of Chibougamau in Quebec. The results confirm continuity along strike and at depth of the minerization discovered in 2010. The zone extends over 350 meters over widths ranging from 3 to 11 meters. A second gold-bearing zone was discovered one hundred meters to the north (North Zone). Drill hole D0-11-08 returned 11.17 g/t Au over 0.4 metres within a wider zone of 2.96 g/t Au over 2.45 metres. A second parallel zone was discovered 100 meters to the north in hole DO-11-06 and returned 11.16 g/t Au over 0.3 meters within a broader interval of 2.05 g/t Au over 2.25 meters. The table below presents results from the zones cuts in the first sixteen holes. These results are partial and cover only 350 meters of the gold-bearing structure outlined at surface for over two kilometers. The mineralized zones consist of highly sheared and altered rocks. Mineralization is composed of semi-massive to massive bands of pyrite associated with highly silicified and carbonate altered sections. The area of interest on the property has road access that enables Cartier to work the property all year. To date, the first 1500-meter phase of drilling has been completed and the remainder of the program will follow upon reception of all results. Geo., Vice President – Exploration. Mr. Berthelot is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The Dollier exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Berthelot. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d’Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories. -30- For further information please contact: Philippe Cloutier President and CEO Cartier Resources Inc.
