Cartier Announces Discovery of a New Gold Zone on its Dollier Property
Val-d’Or, Québec, September 10, 2009 – Cartier Resources inc. (TSX-V: ECR) («Cartier») is proud to announce the discovery of a new gold zone on its Dollier property situated 15 kilometers south of Chibougamau. Recent channel sampling has returned results grading up to 9.17 g/t Au over 1.1 meters, included within a broader zone which returned 3.85 g/t Au over 3.2 meters from a sulphide horizon. The high grade gold values are associated with semi-massive to massive sulphide horizons comprised of pyrite-pyrrhotite and to a lesser degree chalcopyrite and sphalerite in mafic flows. To date, Cartier’s team of geologists has exposed the sulphide horizons over widths of up to six meters and results indicate that the widths exposed so far are gold-bearing. The sulphide horizons are marked by EM (INPUT) conductors over a distance of nine kilometers. These conductors were identified by a previous (1973) airborne survey. Following this recent discovery a helicopter-borne geophysical survey a using high resolution electromagnetic system time-domain electromagnetic and magnetic method was completed and covered the entire property. The survey was conducted under the supervision of M. Marc Boivin, an independent consulting geophysicist retained by Cartier. A detailed interpretation is currently in progress. The objective of the survey is to delineate the magnetic features and conductors associated with economic gold mineralization and provide the best trenching and drilling targets. Quality Assurance/Quality Control The Dollier exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Philippe Berthelot, P. Geo., qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d’Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories. -30- For further information please contact: Philippe Cloutier President and CEO Cartier Resources Inc.
