Cartier cuts 1.5 % Copper and 100 g/t Silver over 19 metres on Cadillac Extension
Val-d’Or, Quebec, September 1st, 2011 – Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) (“Cartier”) is pleased to announce that additional results from channel samples returned 1.5 % copper and 100 g/t silver over 19 meters and 629 g/t silver, 1.2 % copper and 1.4 g/t gold over 2 meters within a broader interval grading 1.0 % copper and 80 g/t silver over 32 meters on the Cadillac Extension project located 115 kilometers east of Val-d’Or in the province of Quebec. Other results returned 2.7 % copper, 1.1 % zinc and 67 g/t silver over 3 meters within a wider interval grading 0.7 % copper and 27 g/t silver over 20 meters. One section returned 6.6 g/t gold and 237 g/t silver over 1 meter. These are the latest results from trenching conducted on the Langlade polymetalic zone, 45 samples are pending for final results. See Table 1: Table of Cu, Zn, Ag, Au new results Overall 609 1-meter channel samples were taken on a systematic 10-meter spaced pattern over the area of interest (refer to the figure and table included with this release for a compilation of the best intersections from recent sampling taken at Langlade). The zone is open laterally and at depth and is supported by the results of a recent geophysical survey. Diamond drilling is planned to test the depth and lateral extensions of the zone. Mineralization occurs as lens of disseminated to semi-massive sulphides consisting of sphalerite-chalcopyrite-pyrite-pyrrhotite-gahnite-galena and is hosted within an envelope of anthophyllite-biotite-garnet altered rocks. Detailed mapping and sampling of the zone was completed in order to outline the overall geometry of the best potential units. “We are very pleased that these additional results indicate good continuity for the mineralization at surface.” commented Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier, adding, “Drill hole targeting laterally and at depth will focus on confirming the potential for expansion”. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. (ACTLABS) in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d’Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories. -30- Contact Information Philippe Cloutier President and CEO Cartier Resources Inc. 819 874-1331 819 874-3113 (FAX) info@ressourcescartier.com www.ressourcescartier.com The TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this press release.
