Philippe Cloutier is feeling feisty. I caught up with Cloutier, CEO of Cartier Resources (ECR.V) last week. I really only had one question, why was the planned drilling program at the Cadillac project paused?
Cloutier is in the midst of doing 100,000 meters of drilling over 15 kilometers of prospective ground at the Cadillac project on Quebec’s Abitibi gold belt. He’s been going great guns with news of good grades at shallow depths on every target ECR has drilled. A release every two weeks. But on June 2, in a release outlining more very positive gold results Cartier announced,
Cartier has just completed its winter drilling phase and will redesign its initial 100,000-m drilling program in light of the excellent results obtained in the Contact and Hope Sectors.
Wait, what? Why would Cartier want to redesign the program? “When we reported the Contact results, our friends at Agnico Eagle came to the office and said “stop”. Define the deposit,” recalled Cloutier. “We said no. Our investors invested in the 100,000 meter program and that’s what we’re doing.”
“Then we reported the results at the Hope target to the south of the Cadillac fault,” said Cloutier. “Agnico came to the office again and suggested we stop the 100K program and drill out Hope.” (Read complete article….)
